Dad’s Day of Indulgence

Let’s be honest: planning for Father’s Day can be difficult. It’s a busy time of year, what with school letting out, camps to sign up for, graduations to plan, caregivers to find…  yes, Father’s Day planning can fall through the cracks.

Add to that, we always think Dad just wants to stay home and sizzle up something on the grill.  But, does he really want to labor over hot coals for his own celebration?

Let us help you plan a Day of Indulgence for Dad.

First: Breakfast in Bed.  How about a lovely frittata, or a Potato Skillet with baked eggs. Here are 16 yummy-looking ideas to help you plan.

Maybe Dad would like to spend the afternoon fishing.  Farmers Almanac ranks Sunday as one of the year’s best days for fishing. Both Bellevue State Park and Brandywine Creek State Park offer fishing. Check their websites for details and license information.

Or maybe he’d like to kick back in that recliner and read the day away. You could give him a new exciting suspenseful crime novel, or surprise him with one of this year’s best books for the business person.

Then, surprise him with an elegant upscale dinner that’s fit for the king he is.  We’re open Sunday from 4:30 to 8:40 p.m., serving from our a la carte dinner menu with some added Father’s Day specials.  For the pièce de résistance, Dad can choose a bourbon or scotch flight to cap off his Day of Indulgence.   Please call for a reservation – 302-655-9463.

Finally, be sure to make it home by sunset, grab the kids and your binoculars, and go outside to see the full Moon and the bright light to its right, Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system. This is the closest Jupiter will be to Earth this year.  Check out this video all about Jupiter.

Most importantly, on behalf of all of us at Domaine Hudson, have a safe, happy, relaxing, family-filled Father’s Day.
